Asynchronous Video Interviews - Candidate view

Asynchronous video interviews allow you to complete your interview comfortably from home, at a time that suits you.

The process is simple:

  • Read or watch the question

  • Record your answer

  • Move on to the next question

Getting started

When you open the interview link, you will see an overview of the interview.

  1. the number of questions

  2. how many attempts you have per question

  3. how long your answer should be

  4. If you are ready, press "Start interview"

Test your setup

Before starting the interview, you will be asked to record a short test video to make sure your camera and microphone are working properly.


Click Start and allow your browser to access your camera and microphone


Record a short test video

• You can:

• click Re-record if you want to try again

• click Looks good! when everything is working

👉 This test video is not visible to the hiring team.


Answering questions

Once the test is complete, you will see:

• a list of questions on the left

• details about attempts and time limits on the right

To begin:

  1. Click View question

  2. Review the question

  3. Start recording your answer

After submitting your answer, you can proceed to the next question.

Helpful tips

  • Make sure you are in a quiet place with good lighting

  • Check your internet connection before starting

  • Take advantage of preparation time (if provided)

  • Stay within the suggested time limit

If you experience any technical issues, you can contact support via the chat bubble available in the interview page.

Troubleshooting:

It won't let me start recording.

Check that you have made some noise and your mic is detected.

When you make some noise, then you can start.

Camera or microphone not detected

If you have already allowed camera and microphone access in your browser but they are still not working, please try the following:

1. Check browser permissions

Make sure access is actually enabled:

  • Click the 🔒 icon in your browser’s address bar

  • Confirm that the Camera and Microphone are set to Allow

  • Refresh the page after updating permissions

2. Check device (system) permissions

Sometimes your device blocks access even if the browser allows it.

Mac

  • Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security

  • Open Camera and Microphone

  • Make sure your browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.) is enabled

Windows

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security

  • Open Camera and Microphone

  • Ensure access is enabled for apps and your browser

Phone (iOS / Android)

  • Open Settings

  • Find your browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari)

  • Make sure Camera and Microphone permissions are enabled

3. Restart and try again

  • Refresh the page or reopen the interview link

  • Restart your browser

  • If needed, restart your device

4. Try a different browser

If the issue persists, try opening the interview in another browser:

  • Google Chrome (recommended)

  • Safari (Mac/iPhone)

  • Microsoft Edge
