We all make mistakes, especially when moving quickly through busy candidate pipelines. If a candidate is accidentally moved into the wrong stage (for example, Hired instead of Rejected), that single action can have a knock-on effect on your hiring statistics.
What’s new?
In the History tab of a candidate profile, admins can now delete stage-entry activities that were mistakenly made.
When a stage move activity is deleted:
Hiring statistics (charts, indicators, and reports) behave as if the move never happened
Accidental updates like an incorrect hire affecting your hires chart are fully reversed
Your reporting stays accurate and reliable
A full audit trail is maintained with any deleted stage moves clearly seen
This makes it easy to fix honest mistakes without compromising long-term data quality.
Who can delete stage moves?
This feature is admin-only.
The 3 dots and delete button will only appear if all of the following are true:
You are a system admin
The activity is a stage movement
The activity is not the most recent stage movement for that application
The activity is not the first project-entry stage movement for that application
These safeguards ensure that pipelines remain consistent and that only valid corrections can be made.
How to check for incorrect stage moves
The candidate progression chart shows the number of candidates who progressed through each stage. If you feel that the numbers in the Hired stage are incorrect, you can simply click on the hired stage area to expand the details for a closer look:
You can now see the candidate path (the journey they took through the pipeline).
In the example below we can see that this candidate was moved to the hired stage and then into the withdrawn stage, which could suggest they were moved to the hired stage incorrectly/accidentally. You should always validate this with the user who moved them (which you will be able to see on the activity itself after following the instructions below), as it could have been a valid journey, i.e. someone was hired but then for whatever reason they dropped out or were withdrawn.
If it was an incorrect stage move (genuine mistake), you can simply open the candidate profile by clicking on their name in the view above (which will take you to the project and highlight their candidate card) then follow the instructions below to delete/undo the incorrect stage move activity.
How it works
Open a candidate profile
Go to the History tab
Find the stage-entry activity you want to correct
Click 3 dots and then Delete (visible only to admins when the conditions above are met)
Once deleted:
The stage-entry activity remains visible in the History tab
It appears greyed out to show it has been removed
You’ll see:
Who deleted the activity
When it was deleted
This keeps a clear audit trail while ensuring the data itself is corrected.
Your charts will now be corrected to show accurate data.
Why this matters
Accurate data drives better hiring decisions. With this update:
One-off mistakes won’t skew your reports
Hiring metrics remain trustworthy over time
Admins can confidently correct errors without manual workarounds
Your stats should reflect reality not slip-ups. And now, they do.
