The stage collapsing functionality in Teamdash helps you keep your recruitment pipeline clean and organized by reducing visual clutter. You can manually collapse or expand any recruitment stage at any time, while empty stages can also be collapsed or expanded with a single toggle. The view updates automatically as candidates move through your pipeline, while manual overrides ensure you always have full control over how your recruitment stages are displayed.

Benefits
Cleaner Dashboard: Collapsing empty stages reduces clutter, making it easier to focus on stages with active candidates.
Dynamic Updates: Automatically collapses stages that become empty over time, keeping your view up-to-date without manual adjustments. Automatically expands stages if candidates are moved into a stage (either manually or via automated stage action).
Flexible Control: Manually collapse or expand any individual stage — including stages with candidates — to customize your pipeline view without affecting other stages.
Time-Saving: Quickly toggle between collapsed and expanded views to streamline navigation and review.
How to Use
Automatically collapse empty stages
When the “Collapse Empty Stages” toggle is turned on, all stages with zero candidates are automatically collapsed, displaying only the stage name vertically. The system dynamically checks for candidate activity, so if a stage becomes empty (e.g., candidates are moved or rejected), it will collapse automatically. Likewise, if candidates move into an empty collapsed stage, it will expand automatically.
When toggled off, all stages expand fully. If you manually expand or collapse a specific stage, this action overrides the toggle setting until the toggle is switched again, at which point the system resets and re-applies the emptiness check.
Manually collapse individual stages
You can also manually collapse or expand any stage from the stage settings, regardless of whether it contains candidates.
This allows you to temporarily hide stages that are less relevant while keeping your pipeline organized according to your workflow.
Manual changes affect only the selected stage. The Collapse Empty Stages toggle continues to control only the automatic collapsing and expanding of empty stages.
Tips
Use for High-Volume Hiring: Enable the toggle to automatically hide empty stages while reviewing large recruitment pipelines.
Organize Your View: Manually collapse stages with candidates that you don't need to monitor closely at the moment.
Combine with Filters and Sorting: Use Teamdash's candidate filters and sorting options alongside collapsed stages to focus on the most relevant candidates.
Customize Your Workflow: Mix automatic collapsing of empty stages with manual collapsing of individual stages to create the pipeline view that works best for you.
