Quick start: Run AI CV screening
To quickly screen candidates in a project:
Open your Project and go to the Screener tab.
Click Screener settings and add your screening criteria.
Run the Screener to evaluate candidate CVs.
Review candidate scores in the table.
Move selected candidates to the next stage automatically or manually.
Accessing the AI CV Screener
Open your Project.
Click the Screener menu.
The Screener view allows you to:
Configure screening criteria
Run the screener
Review candidate scores
Manually adjust candidate scores
Move candidates between stages
The Screener view shows candidate scores, screening status, sorting and selection tools.
Setting Up Screening Criteria
Screening criteria define what the AI should evaluate in candidate CVs.
Open the Screener tab.
Click Screener settings in the top bar.
Add or generate criteria.
Managing screening criteria
Within the Screener settings you can:
Add criteria manually
Generate criteria with AI (it uses job description and/or Job Ad Landing Page)
Reorder criteria using the drag handle
Assign weights to prioritise more important requirements
Mark certain criteria as required
Criteria with higher weights have a greater impact on the final score calculation.
AI-generated criteria now include suggested weights and required attributes.
Criteria validation
When a criterion is added, the system validates whether it is suitable for AI screening.
If a criterion may not work well, a warning will appear. You can still add the criterion if needed.
How AI Screening Scores Are Calculated
How AI Screening Scores Are Calculated
AI screening evaluates each candidate against the screening criteria you define and calculates a score based on the results.
1. AI evaluates each criterion
The AI reads the candidate’s CV and determines how well the candidate meets each screening criterion.
Examples include:
Years of experience in a specific field
Knowledge of certain technologies
Required certifications
Language skills
The AI only evaluates information that is present in the CV.
2. The system calculates the final score
After each criterion is evaluated, Teamdash calculates the overall candidate score using an algorithm.
The score is based on:
The result of each criterion
The weight assigned to each criterion
Criteria with higher weights contribute more to the final score.
Transparency of results
The candidate profile shows the full breakdown of results, including:
Each criterion
Evaluation results
Criterion weights
The final calculated score
Running AI CV Screening
With criteria added and setup to your preference, you can now click Run Screener.
The screener status panel shows how many candidates have been screened.
The panel shows:
Total candidates in the screener
Screening status
Whether screening is currently running
Candidates that are partially screened
Candidates may become partially screened if new criteria are added after screening has already run.
Reviewing and Actioning Candidates
After running the screener, candidates appear in a table with their screening results.
The Screener table shows candidate scores and allows you to review, select, and move candidates.
Reviewing candidate scores
From the table you can:
Select one, some or all candidates
Preview CV
Open the candidate profile by clicking the candidate name
View detailed screening results by clicking the score
Manually adjust screening result by clicking on the icon in the criteria column
Automatically selecting candidates
Three selection methods are available:
By score
Select candidates above or below a score threshold.By rank
Select a fixed number of the top or bottom candidates.By percentile
Select a percentage of candidates.
Selections apply across all pages of the candidate list. (10 candidates will be shown per page.)
Moving candidates to another stage
Once candidates are selected, you can move them to another stage in the pipeline.
If candidates are moved to a dropout stage, you will be prompted to select a dropout reason (if enabled).
Manually adjusting screening results
If the AI screener produces an incorrect result or if you do not agree with it after reviewing the CV, you can manually override it.
This may happen if:
Relevant information is missing from the CV
The AI misinterprets experience or skills
Manually updated results are marked with an indicator and show a log of who made the change and when.
Viewing Screening Results on the Candidate Profile
Screening results are also available on the candidate profile.
The Screening tab shows detailed results and explains how the candidate score was calculated. Results can also be adjusted in the same way as in the main screener area. If a candidate has multiple screening results from different projects, you can apply a filter to only show results from the current project.
Running the Screener Automatically with Stage Actions
The screener can run automatically using Stage Actions.
A new action type called Run screener is available.
The screener can run automatically using Stage Actions.
The action runs only if:
The project has at least one screening criterion configured
If criteria are missing, the action enters an error state.
After configuring criteria, click Resume to continue.
Each automatic action runs only once per candidate.
Using the Screener in Project Templates
The screener can also be configured in Project Templates.
When editing a template, the Screener tab allows you to:
Configure screening criteria
Define screener thresholds
Projects created from the template will inherit these settings.
Including the Screener When Cloning Projects
When cloning a project, you can enable Include screener to copy:

Screener configuration
Best Practices for Screening Criteria
Best Practices for Screening Criteria
Well-defined criteria help the AI evaluate candidates more accurately.
Use clear, measurable requirements
Good examples:
Minimum 3 years of Java development experience
Experience with React or Angular
Fluent English required
Less effective examples:
Strong technical background
Highly motivated candidate
Good cultural fit
Prioritise important criteria with weights
Assign higher weights to the most important requirements.
Avoid too many criteria
We recommend starting with 5–10 key criteria.
Remember that AI uses CV content
The AI can only evaluate information present in the CV.
If experience is missing from the CV, you can manually adjust the screening results.
Troubleshooting AI Screening
If screening results seem incorrect, check the following:
The CV may not include the relevant information
The AI can only evaluate what appears in the CV.The screening criteria may be unclear
Try using more specific and measurable criteria. The screener may not be configured yet
Automatic screening actions require at least one screening criterion. If needed, you can manually adjust screening results.
